Southeast New Mexico College (SENMC) is proud to announce that it has been named fifth in the nation as one of the best community colleges. According to universitybusiness.com, a publication company for leaders in higher education, the ranking is based on a report called ”Best & Worst Community Colleges (2024)” that was released on August 13 by WalletHub, an award- winning personal finance company. According to the report, the ranking was determined by selecting a sample of 653 schools that are members of the American Association of Community Colleges and evaluating the colleges based on cost, financing, education outcomes, and career outcomes.

Southeast New Mexico College President Kevin Beardmore stated, “SENMC is the price leader in the state, providing an exceptionally affordable education. Many students qualify for financial aid, allowing them to have additional cash to cover educational expenses beyond our low tuition and fees. This, combined with extensive student support services for a college of our size, make SENMC a rare value. It is a credit to our community support, our caring faculty and staff, and the wonderful students we serve.” “

“I think that SENMC is a wonderful learning and growing environment. Since day one, I have felt welcomed here and supported by the resources and people around me. I am very grateful to be at a college that cares so much about every student’s success.” said Ethni Flores, a student at Southeast New Mexico College.

Southeast New Mexico College continues to be dedicated to providing affordable tuition and high-quality educational opportunities for all. For more information about Southeast New Mexico College, call (575) 234-9200 or visit senmc.edu.
