SENMC to Host Interactive STEAM Expo

Southeast New Mexico College (SENMC) is proud to announce its highly anticipated STEAM Expo and Open House, taking place on campus on April 23 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. This year, the college is elevating the experience by combining two signature events into one immersive and interactive celebration of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics.

With a creative “Open Map Game” theme, attendees will be invited to explore the campus like never before. Participants can navigate through different stations, complete challenges, and engage in hands-on activities while discovering the many academic programs, student resources, and opportunities available at SENMC.

As they progress through the event, guests will also experience highlights from the college’s Annual STEAM Expo, featuring innovative student projects, demonstrations, and engaging exhibits.

This gamified experience is designed to make learning fun, interactive, and accessible for all ages—encouraging curiosity, creativity, and exploration.

Spotlight on the STEAM Expo

As a central part of this event, the STEAM Expo (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) will showcase the creativity, innovation, and talent of students and the broader community. This year’s expo will feature interactive displays, hands-on experiments, and engaging presentations that highlight real-world applications of STEAM fields.

The college is especially excited to bring this expanded STEAM experience to the community, creating a space where students of all ages can explore their interests, discover new passions, and connect with educational and career opportunities.

All students and community members are warmly invited to participate, engage with exhibitors, and experience the impact of STEAM in a fun and meaningful way.

In addition to exploring exhibits, participants will have multiple opportunities throughout the event to win exciting prizes, making the experience even more memorable and rewarding.

Our goal is to inspire curiosity, foster meaningful connections, and empower individuals to see themselves as part of the future of STEM,” he added.

In addition to games and prizes, attendees will have the opportunity to connect with faculty, meet current students, explore campus facilities, and learn about pathways in high-demand STEAM careers. The event aims to inspire the next generation of innovators while strengthening connections within the community.
