Fuentes, Villa Selected to Class 5A All-State Team

Cavegirl senior softballers Kalion Fuentes and Vianka Villa have been selected to this year’s Class 5A All-State team. Both girls shared second-team honors. Fuentes was selected as a pitcher, Villa as an outfielder.

Fuentes, inside the circle, posted a record of 7-5 with an ERA of just 2.16. With the bat, she hit .429.

Villa, who played centerfield for the Cavegirls, hit .300. She had a fielding average of .917.

It was the third time the two girls had been tabbed for post-season honors. Both girls were named to this year’s All-District 4/5A first team and selected as New Mexico All-Stars. Fuentes was also selected as the District 4/5A Player of the Year.

During 2025, Fuentes and Villa helped lead the Cavegirls to an overall record of 22-8, a District 4/5A championship, and a berth in the NMAA Class 5A state tournament.
