Dr. Kanu completed a fellowship at HCA Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. He is board-qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and board-eligible with the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. He earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, where he received the Dean’s Leadership Award, and completed his residency with the Inspira Health Network in New Jersey.

Dr. Kanu cares for everyday foot and ankle problems as well as complex surgical conditions, including heel pain and plantar fasciitis, bunions, ingrown toenails, diabetic foot care, Charcot foot, sports-related foot and ankle injuries, and total ankle replacement. He also sees children and adolescents.

He has published in the Journal of Vascular Surgery Cases and Foot & Ankle Surgery: Techniques and has presented at national meetings, including those of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Johns Hopkins University and master’s degrees from George Washington University (public health microbiology) and Indiana University, and he is an APMA Emerging Leader.

“Most people don’t think about their feet until something hurts, and then it’s all they can think about. I like being the person who figures out what’s going on and gets them back to doing what they love. I’m excited to meet people here and get started,” said Dr. Kanu.
