Cavemen Round Robin Tourney Underway

Day two of the Carlsbad Cavemen Round Robin Baseball Tournament gets underway on Friday, March 20. The three-day CHS event will run through Saturday, March 21, at the Tom Forni Cavemen Corral.

Things couldn't get much better for Carlsbad baseball fans as four games will take place—two of them featuring the Cavemen—on Friday.

Friday's slate of games will look like this: Game 1, Organ Mt. vs. Hobbs at 10 a.m.; Game 2, Mayfield vs. Cathedral at 12:30 p.m.; Game 3, Carlsbad vs. Cathedral at 3 p.m.; and Game 4, Carlsbad vs. R.O.S. at 5:30 p.m.

On Saturday, three games will take place: Game 1, R.O.S. vs. Organ Mt.at 10 a.m.; Game 2, Carlsbad vs. Mayfield at 12:30 p.m.; and Game 3, Cathedral vs. Hobbs at 3 p.m.

Carlsbad opened up tournament play on Thursday, March 19, with a game against Organ Mt. Results of that game will be posted in the March 27 edition of the Carlsbad Local.

The Cavemen entered the tournament with a record of 4-5 following a 2-3 performance at the Las Cruces Invitational last weekend, March 12-14.

At the City of Crosses tournament, the Cavemen downed the Las Cruces Bulldawgs 4-0 and the Rio Rancho Rams 11-10 before falling to the Centennial Hawks 21-11.

Following play in the Carlsbad Round Robin Tournament, the Cavemen will compete in the Rio Rancho Invitational on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, March 26-28.
