Cavegirls Play Goddard Rockets to 1-1 Stalemate

The Carlsbad Cavegirls battled the Goddard Rockets to a 1-1 stalemate in Roswell on Tuesday night, September 2.

Scoring for CHS was Hayden Brose. Brose, a senior, found the back of the net on an assist from Cassie Bielstein, also a senior.

With the tie, the Cavegirls stand even on the season at 2-2-1.

In Junior varsity action, the Cavegirls defeated Goddard 3-1. Paisley Hedrick scored two goals for CHS, and Geriyah Segura one.

On Friday, September 5, Carlsbad High will be in Las Cruces to take on the Centennial Hawks. The JVs will take the field first at 4:30 p.m., followed by the varsity at 6:30 p.m.

On Saturday, September 6, they’ll face off against the Mayfield Trojans. The JVs will see action first at 11:30 a.m. Varsity action will get underway in Las Cruces at 1:30 p.m.

Cavemen at Roswell Invite

The Cavemen soccer team will be in the Alien City on Friday and Saturday, September 5-6, to compete in the Roswell Invitational. According to MaxPreps on Friday, Carlsbad will take on the Mayfield Trojans at 4 p.m.

It will mark the second time this season the young Cavemen have faced off against Mayfield. On August 22, in their season opener, they lost a 6-1 decision to the Trojans.

Currently, the Cavemen are 0-3 on the year.
