What buildings and areas did the storm damage?

The primary damage was to the roof of the hoof stock (Elk, Pronghorn) barn. The debris from the roof was scattered across the hoof stock enclosures. No animals or people were injured during or after the event.

Is there an estimated time for the park to be closed?

We are making good progress with the clean-up efforts and hope to have the zoo open within a few days, weather permitting. Ongoing repairs and reconstruction will be occurring.

Are the visitor center and gift shop still open?

Yes, the visitor center and gift shop are open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., seven days a week, until we can fully reopen the zoo.

Were any animals injured from the storm damage?

No, all animals and people are safe there were no injuries.

What does the public need to know about the park closure and damage at the park?

That all staff, visitors, and animals are safe. Clean-up is ongoing and proceeding quickly. We hope to be able to open the park soon.
