The Board of Directors of the United Way of Eddy County is announcing a transition in executive leadership. Executive Director Kyle Marksteiner will be stepping down to accept a new position with the City of Carlsbad, and Serina Lyons has been appointed as Interim Executive Director.

During his tenure as Executive Director, Marksteiner led key initiatives aimed at strengthening community partnerships and expanding support for vital programs across Eddy County.

“Kyle came into the organization during a challenging time of transition and has not only helped grow the United Way of Eddy County but has helped our community,” said Niki Herring, President. “Kyle leads with his heart, and it is because of his leadership and kindness that the organization has become what it is today. We wish him luck in his new position.”

To ensure a smooth transition and continuous support for ongoing programs and community campaigns, the Board of Directors has named Serina Lyons as Interim Executive Director. Lyons brings a wealth of experience, organizational knowledge, and deep dedication to the mission of the United Way of Eddy County.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have Serina step into this role,” said Herring. “Her leadership and passion for community will ensure that our work serving Eddy County continues without interruption. Serina has proven nonprofit experience, and we are excited to see what she brings to the United Way.”

United Way of Eddy County remains fully committed to its mission of improving lives and strengthening the community. Donors, volunteers, and partner agencies can expect full operational continuity during this transition period. For more information, feel free to email director@UWeddyco.org.
