Trey Castaneda

Trey Castaneda is a proud Carlsbad native with a deep commitment to the growth and enrichment of his community. A dual-degree graduate of New Mexico State University, Trey holds two Bachelor’s degrees and a minor. His academic journey began with collegiate baseball at NMSU, where he learned the values of discipline and teamwork before an injury redirected his focus fully toward his education.

After briefly living in San Antonio, Trey returned to Carlsbad, realizing that his true calling lay in serving the community that shaped him. He has since devoted his time and energy to various service initiatives, including Special Friends Vacation Bible School, Men’s Journey (Walk to Emmaus), and youth sports camps. Trey is passionate about improving local education, making housing more accessible, and expanding community resources to support future generations.

With a vision for a thriving, inclusive Carlsbad, Trey aspires to take on leadership roles across multiple organizations. He is driven by a desire to help his hometown grow into a vibrant, sought-after city while preserving the strong community bonds that make Carlsbad special.
