I have over 20 years of experience in the mining industry, and one of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that safety must always come first. For the past seven years at SIMCO, I’ve appreciated the company’s strong commitment to safety. Having faced dangerous situations and close calls in my career, I believe it is essential to always look out for the safety of my coworkers. I make it a priority to protect those around me, because at the end of the day, we all deserve to go home safely. I have taken part in several community clean-up projects, and my wife and I have also enjoyed participating in the annual awareness walks for child abuse organized by CASA and CYFD. For the past four years, we have been foster parents, which has deepened my belief in the importance of protecting and keeping children safe.

Eddy County Commission Approves RFP for Construction of New Detention Center

During Tuesday’s Commission Meeting on November 18, the Eddy County Board of County Commissioners approved the Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit competitive bids from qualified firms for the construction of a new Eddy County Detention Center. The project will be located at 1501 Corrales Drive in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
