God’s Gang Ministries has been a ministry for over seven years. It started as a music ministry and turned into a discipleship. The non-denominational organization offers discipleship for youth and men.

“GANG actually stands for God’s Anointed New Generation,” said Edward Granger. “We’re not really affiliated with any church. We do a lot of work with a bunch of different churches in town,” he said.

Granger said Oasis Church is the home church for him and his family, but the ministry is open to all youth and churches. “Right now, we don’t have a women’s ministry of discipleship. Only a men’s for 18 and over; our youth is for boys and girls,” he said.

“Two years ago, we started doing the youth discipleship with sixth through 12th grade students,” said Granger. “My wife and I, every Thursday, we have a Bible study at Oasis Church. We eat dinner with the kids for about 30 minutes, and then we study the Bible for about an hour,” he said. About his wife, Kelley Granger, he said, “She’s my right hand. She is everything that holds the ministry together, you know, besides Jesus. She holds me accountable, and she does ministry with me.”

In the youth discipleship, Granger said, on average there are 20 to 30 students that attend weekly. “There are some kids who’ve been with us since day one. We started off with like three kids. In the last couple of years, it has grown,” he said.

Granger explained that it is not really like a youth night; it is more of a study of the Bible. Youth can ask questions and share testimonies. “They really open up to us,” he said.

Sometimes, the youth share testimonies, and there are nights when they have a game night or trivia night with Bible trivia. “We like to spend time with them and see how we can help them,” said Granger. “We just feel like it’s a good, quiet place to come and get prayer if needed, or sometimes just for support. Some of the kids that that come, they’re not from the best homes. They come from broken homes and troubled backgrounds.

We accept anybody to come fellowship with us and learn about Jesus with us,” he said.

The Bible studies come from a curriculum worked by the leaders before it is taught, said Granger. After the book is finished, he said, they usually take the kids somewhere. “The last trip we took was a trampoline trip; we went to Hobbs to the space jump over there,” he said.

“One time, we had a flag football game, and there were like 24 kids out there playing flag football. It was pretty amazing,” said Granger. “We believe in community. We believe in unity and that everybody’s welcome,” he said.

“The men’s ministry, we have every Monday night. For the last six years, we’ve been doing an online Bible study,” said Granger, who also mentioned an in-person Bible study on Friday nights.

The online studies are held through a Zoom meeting. “It’s every Monday,” said Granger. He said it is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., although sometimes it runs to 8:30 p.m.

“Sometimes, some men come to my house; so we’ll have like five or six men in my music studio room, and then like the rest of the seven or eight people online. It’s pretty cool,” Granger said.

The Men’s ministry connects with ministries from churches and other men’s ministries. “Relentless Men Ministry are part of this as well; that’s at Oasis Church,” said Granger.

The men’s discipleship consists of 40 to 50 guys, Granger said. “We go and serve the community. We feed the homeless from time to time. We’ll connect with other ministries from churches, other men’s ministries. There are people who came to us; they just got out of prison and wanted to know Jesus,” he said.

For men who want to learn about God and they want to get closer, Granger said, “We have a program that we put them through. We disciple them. We mentor them. We try to help them become the man that God created them to be.”

About the men’s ministry, Granger said they travel together, go to conferences, and go to the mountains together. “We believe in men leading the homes. We do a lot of training and have fellowship. We learn the word together. We pray together. We cry together. We go through hard times together. We just talk about some of our shortcomings, what we’ve gone through, and what the Lord has done for us,” he said.

In addition, Granger said, the men’s ministry uses an app and communicates daily.

“God gets the glory for everything. We just are his servants, trying to do his work. Unity is everything. We need each other. We need Jesus,” said Granger.
