Carlsbad High School

Allied Health Teacher

I have dedicated my career to education, healthcare, and community service, with a strong focus on preparing the next generation of leaders in both health and wellness. My classroom is more than a place of instruction—it is a space where students feel supported and empowered to succeed. I tell my students that I have two jobs as their teacher. First and foremost, to keep them safe. The second job is to teach them a few things. If the first job isn’t being accomplished, the second job does not matter. I am also deeply committed to mental health awareness. As a certified Mental Health First Aid and QPR Suicide Prevention instructor, I train students, faculty, and community members to recognize signs of crisis, intervene, and connect individuals to resources. These contributions go beyond my classroom; they create ripple effects across the community by reducing stigma, expanding access to support, and equipping others with life-saving skills.
