Eddy County

Fire Chief

My path to becoming Fire Chief of Eddy County Fire & Rescue is a culmination of a lifelong commitment to service, rooted in my family’s legacy. I grew up in the fire station, inspired by my grandpa and dad, who both volunteered as long as I can remember. This early exposure instilled in me a deep-seated passion for the fire service that has defined my career. A cornerstone of my professional career has been transforming our county’s emergency response capabilities. I led the consolidation of 11 former volunteer fire districts and the Village of Loving into a single, cohesive force. This monumental effort, covering Eddy County’s vast 4,198 square miles, has allowed us to add 45 full-time career responders to our team. My contributions to the community are a reflection of my belief that true leadership extends far beyond a job title. I may have lived in Eddy County for just under 10 years, but my commitment to its safety and prosperity is a lifelong mission. This proactive approach to community service—from creating impactful safety programs and building strategic partnerships to engaging directly with residents through coaching and charitable events—is what defines my leadership. My contributions are not simply about responding to emergencies.
