Between the busyness surrounding the start of the school year and the tasks of preparing for the holidays, there are likely ladies in the community who are ready for a girls’ night out. Luckily, Carlsbad Medical Center is providing one.

CMC presents its annual “Girls’ Night Out” on Thursday, September 25, at 6:30 p.m. at the Pecos River Village Conference Center. The event offers an informative and fun evening of entertainment while benefiting cancer warriors in Eddy County with proceeds going to Brittany’s Hope.

This year’s event is themed “Boots & Bouquets” and features a catered dinner, silent auction, door prizes, tips from local healthcare professionals, and a nationally recognized keynote speaker, according to the press release dated September 12.

“We would like to invite the women of Carlsbad to put on their best pair of boots and join us for this fun night out,” said Melissa Suggs, Carlsbad Medical Center Director of Marketing.

While the menu was not finalized at press time, Suggs said they were working with Katelyn Morales with K&P Catering, who will cater the meal. “They never disappoint,” she said.

This event is held as an annual celebration for the Healthy Woman program, a resource provided by CMC, according to the press release. The program is designed to “provide women with the knowledge they need to live healthier lives and make informed healthcare decisions for themselves and their loved ones.”

In addition to tips provided by local healthcare professionals, Magen King will present “Taking Care of Yourself with Humor,” stated the press release, which provided the following information about the keynote speaker:

“King is an award-winning radio host turned stand-up comedian and TV personality. On stage, King transforms the challenges of single parenthood into a wellspring of laughter. She contrasts raising three teenagers in today’s world with her own experiences as a ‘90s latchkey kid, offering insightful, relatable, and hilarious commentary.

“Her self-deprecating wit combined with heartfelt storytelling shows audiences how a positive mindset and a little laughter can transform the way we handle stress, change, and setbacks. Her message leaves people not just laughing but also equipped with a renewed perspective on resilience and adaptability.”

Tickets for the Girls’ Night Out event, “Boots & Bouquets,” are $50 each, and can be purchased through the Facebook page for Carlsbad Medical Center (www.Facebook.com/CarlsbadMedicalCenter).

All proceeds from the event will benefit Brittany’s Hope, according to the press release, which describes it as “a charitable fund through Carlsbad’s Faith, Hope and Love Foundation, used to assist cancer patients in Eddy County with expenses related to their care.”

This charity that the family of Brittany Martin established in her honor is very well known in Carlsbad. For more information about Brittany’s Hope, visit www.fhlcarlsbad.org/brittanys-hope.

Sponsorship packages are still available according to the press release.

“We rely on sponsorships to make this event possible, and the local business community has been so generous, in particular our Title Sponsors, B & R Trucking,” said Suggs.

“Thanks to the support of these sponsors, we will be able to put on a fabulous event, while supporting a very worthy cause that helps people right here in Eddy County,” she said.

Pecos River Village Conference Center is located at 711 Muscatel Ave. in Carlsbad. For more information about the event, Carlsbad Medical Center’s Healthy Woman program, or sponsorship opportunities, call 575-887-4160.
