The love of snapping photos is typical in most families. From taking selfies with friends to capturing snapshots of family moments to reminisce about in the future, this new, local indoor establishment offers some pretty unique opportunities for fun times. Click N Pose, located at 323 W. Mermod St., recently opened.

Priscilla Hernandez is the visionary behind this venture. She is originally from Carlsbad and currently lives in Loving. “I’ve lived here all my life,” she said.

In sharing the details about the business, Priscilla said, “It is a selfie place, where you can take your own photos.” She said there are several backdrops and setups that customers can use to take photos with their phone.

“There are five rooms with different setups in them,” said Priscilla. “We have another room—you can go in there to paint,” she said.

“We give you like a pizza box with a canvas, and your smock, and some shoe covers,” Priscilla said. “You can go in there and you can paint; you can paint on the walls, you can paint on the canvas, you can paint on each other,” she laughed. The paint room is a glow-in-the-dark space with black lights, she added.

“We also have a room where we have little bumper rental cars for five and under that they can ride, and the RC cars, race cars, that the older ones from six and up can go and race them,” said Priscilla. She clarified that the race cars are remote-controlled.

Click N Pose is expected to be a “walk-in” business, said Priscilla, adding that appointments will be available on Sundays and for individuals who wish to visit before regular hours. As a new business, Priscilla said, “We’re trying to see which hours are good for us.” She added that she expects to try from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, and perhaps from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends, but that is subject to change.

According to the price structure provided by Priscilla, basic fees are $20 per person for the selfie stations or the paint room, with children under 10 being $10 for the selfie stations or paint room with an adult purchase. Bumper cars and RC cars are a $5 add-on for 15 minutes of play. An “all-in-one” fee is offered that includes both the selfie stations and paint room for adults for $35, with kids under 10 having the “all-in-one” price of $20 with an adult purchase, which includes selfie stations, paint room, and car play. Stated rates are before tax.

While hosting parties has not been previously discussed, Priscilla said, “We could do parties, as long as they’re not like really big parties.” She estimated that most of the backdrops would accommodate up to eight people.

Karen Dutchover-Melendrez did the window paintings for Click N Pose, said Priscilla.

As part of the launch, a 50 percent discount was offered to the first 20 customers, with the first kids receiving a toy, said Priscilla.

When asked what inspired her to start this business, Priscilla said, “We went to one in Lubbock, and I just thought it was so awesome.”

Priscilla said that her daughters, Dia and Dustyne Hernandez, her son, Dakota Hernandez, and her parents, Frank and Yolanda Olivas, have been very helpful. “They help me every day. If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t have got it opened,” she said.

Priscilla also expressed gratitude to her husband, Edward Hernandez (Chapo). “If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t be where I’m at right now,” she said.

Click N Pose recently joined the Chamber of Commerce, said Priscilla. They were expecting to have a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, July 1, she said.

“Come see us and enjoy some selfie time,” said Priscilla as a message to the public. For more information about Click N Pose, reach out to 575-725-8026 or 575-988-0956. Text is preferred, said Priscilla.
