Eric Tucker is a mining industry professional who brings global experience and technical expertise to the Carlsbad community. A graduate of the University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Eric developed his career through seven years with Komatsu, where he had the opportunity to travel internationally, exploring diverse mining operations and cultures around the world. He has also worked at Potash Mines in New Mexico and held various mining roles. He currently holds the position of Mine Planning Manager at the WIPP site.

As a relatively new resident of the Carlsbad area, Eric is particularly interested in addressing local challenges, including housing supply, contractor community engagement, and youth enrichment opportunities.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Eric values family time above all else, enjoying home improvement projects with his wife and golf outings with his sons. His balanced approach to career and family life exemplifies his commitment to building strong foundations both at work and at home.

Eddy County Commission Approves RFP for Construction of New Detention Center

During Tuesday’s Commission Meeting on November 18, the Eddy County Board of County Commissioners approved the Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit competitive bids from qualified firms for the construction of a new Eddy County Detention Center.
