ECHS BPA Students Shine at National Competition

The ECHS Business Professionals of America National Competitors performed exceptionally well in their competitions last week. Twelve students attended and competed, with an impressive nine qualifying as finalists in their events. Two seniors qualified in both of their events.

BPA advisors are incredibly proud of these competitors. Here are the final results:

Jeremiah Fierro (senior),10th in Promotional Photography out of 309 competitors.

Maritza Carrillo (senior), seventh in Interview Skills out of 48 competitors.

Hanli Norman (junior), Maritza Carrillo (senior), and Dhruvi Patel (junior), 12th in Website Design Team out of 38 competitors.

Lillian Fisher, Aiko Rosales, and Victoria Prado (all freshmen), seventh in Podcast Production Team out of 47 competitors.

Jeremiah Fierro (senior), Surenity Mata (freshman), and Sophia Trujillo (freshman), ninth in Visual Design Team out of 41 competitors.

Wrestlers to Open 2025 at Hobbs Meet

By Don Eskins On Saturday, November 29, the Carlsbad High School wrestling program will officially kick off the 2025-26 grappling season in Hobbs. Eddy County Commission Approves RFP for Construction of New Detention Center

During Tuesday’s Commission Meeting on November 18, the Eddy County Board of County Commissioners approved the Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit competitive bids from qualified firms for the construction of a new Eddy County Detention Center. The project will be located at 1501 Corrales Drive in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
