For the eighth consecutive year, the Carlsbad Community Foundation has awarded grants to nonprofit organizations as part of its Chevron Catalyst Grant Program. For 2025, there will be 24 recipient organizations that address a wide variety of charitable needs in our community. The program is part of a long-standing partnership with Chevron that began with the establishment of a charitable fund in 2016 and the first awards being made in 2018.

Chevron has generously supported the Chevron Catalyst Fund each year, ensuring resources to assist nonprofits who serve our community. The Foundation is responsible for selecting recipients through a competitive grant process, drawing on its experience and extensive knowledge of local nonprofit organizations to maximize the use of charitable dollars.

“Our primary focus is to improve lives of people in Carlsbad and South Eddy County,” said Foundation Board President Gemma Ferguson. “With Chevron’s support, this program has become a big part of that effort. Together, we have made a great team!”

Since the program began, it has benefitted diverse charitable needs within the community. This year, more than $68,000 is being awarded, increasing the program’s grant total since 2018 to more than a half million dollars.

“Chevron’s not just part of southeastern New Mexico, we’re part of helping improve the well-being of the communities where we live and work,” said Katelyn Maxwell, Superintendent of Chevron’s Operations-New Mexico. “We’re proud to collaborate with the Carlsbad Community Foundation and excited to see the positive impacts of the grant recipients.”
