The 2024-25 academic year at Maryville College in Maryville, TN, officially came to a close on Saturday, May 3, when roughly 230 members of the senior class took part in the institution's annual Commencement ceremony

Many of them graduated with academic honors, reflected in their inclusion on the dean's list and their post-graduation plans that build on the Maryville College call to action handed down by our founder more than two centuries ago to "do good on the largest possible scale."

Ashton Whiteaker of Carlsbad was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2025 semester. Consideration for the Dean's List is open to full-time students who have a grade point average of at least 3.6 in all work undertaken, no grade below a "C," and no incompletes for the semester.

In addition, Whiteaker took part in the May 3 graduation celebration held in the Clayton Center for the Arts, earning a bachelor of arts in Management with magna cum laude honors (awarded for a grade-point average [GPA] of 3.75 to 3.94).

Maryville College is a nationally-ranked institution of higher learning and one of America's oldest colleges. For more than 200 years, the school has educated students to be giving citizens and gifted leaders, to study everything so that they are prepared for anything, to address any problem, engage with any audience, and launch successful careers right away.

Located between the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the city of Knoxville, Maryville College offers nearly 1,200 students from around the world both the beauty of a rural setting and the advantages of an urban center, as well as more than 60 majors, seven pre-professional programs, and career preparation from their first day on campus to their last.
