Soccer Opens District Play, Spikers Host Chaparral

Carlsbad High School’s soccer programs will open District 4/5A play on Tuesday, September 30. Both squads will square off against the Clovis Wildcats.

The Cavemen, 2-10 on the year, will host the 9-4 Wildcats. The JVs will take the field first at 4 p.m. Varsity action will get underway at 6 p.m.

Cavemen Update: The CHS boys dropped their final two non-district games to Artesia, 5-1, and Organ Mt., 4-0.

The Cavegirls, 2-9-3, will be on the road for their District 4/5A opener against 2-10-2 Clovis. The JVs are scheduled to get play underway at 4 p.m., followed by the varsity at 6 p.m.

Cavegirl Update: The CHS girls posted a mark of 0-2-1 during their final three non-conference games. The Cavegirls lost to Las Cruces 3-1 and Organ Mt. 1-0. On Tuesday, September 23, they tied the Lovington Wildcats 0-0 (2OT).

Cavegirl Volleyball

The 1-11 Cavegirl volleyball team will entertain the 1-9 Chaparral Lobos on Saturday, September 27. The JVs will open play at noon, followed by the varsity at 1 p.m.

Update: The Cavegirls have dropped their last three games to Las Cruces, 3-0, Organ Mt., 3-0, and Artesia, 3-0.
