Cross Country to Compete at District 4/5A Tourney

The cross country season's District 4/5A Tournament will take place in Roswell on Friday, October 31. The race is set to begin at 3 p.m.

As for who's going to walk off the course with this year's District championship, CHS head coach Michael Sims says it's anybody's guess.

"At this point, it's up for grabs. As for us, we're just going to execute our meet plan and not worry about anything else," said Sims. "It looks like our full roster is healthy, though, so we expect to enter loaded teams in both the boys' and girls' divisions."

While Clovis, Hobbs, Roswell, and Carlsbad will all be hoping to capture this year's district title, they'll also be hoping to place among the top three in each category.

The top three in both the boys' and girls' divisions will advance to the state tournament. This year's state tournament will be held in Albuquerque on Saturday, November 8.

Cavegirl District Entrees: 1. Alyssa Balencia, 20:26.00; 2. Rainelle Ruiz, 21:24.00; 3. Jaydance Guiterrez, 21:36.00; 4. Soledad Martinez, 21:43.00; 5. Alessandra Aguilar, 22:37.33; 6.
