Community Theatre

Carlsbad Community Theatre Awards Winners 2019-2020 Season The Carlsbad Community Theatre was on track for one of its best seasons in many years with three outstanding productions already performed and the final play in rehearsal. Then came Covid-19, shortening the season by one play and darkening the stage for months to come. A reopening date is still unknown, but the theatre folks are still around and planning for that day when the curtain and lights will once again rise on another magical world. While the wait, the decision was made to tabulate the judges’ votes and present awards to the three plays completed. The high quality of the three plays was evident from the voting as there were several two-way and even three-way ties.
