Cavegirls Parris Weldon and Makayla Chester were recently named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s All-Region Team.

Weldon, a senior during 2025, was selected to the NFCA’s First Team as a second sacker. Chester, a junior, was named to the NFCA’s Second Team as an outfielder.

The awards honor student athletes from the Association’s eight Spring sports regions. NFCA member head coaches nominated, then voted for the winners in their respective region. The two regional teams were comprised of 192 student-athletes from 107 schools.

From the 107 schools that participated, 83 seniors, 50 juniors, 37 sophomores, and 20 freshmen were selected for NFCA All-Region honors.

Both Weldon and Chester, tabbed as All-District 4/5A First Team members this year, played key roles in the Cavegirl’s 22-8 season, District 4/5A championship, and deep run into this year’s state tournament.

On the year, Weldon hit .338 with 12 RBIs, five doubles, and two home runs. Chester hit .382 with 24 RBIs, 13 doubles, one triple, and two home runs.

First team All-Region members qualify to gain NFCA All-American honors, set to be released on July 18.
