Cavegirl All-District Selections for 2025

Although they came up a bit short in their effort to win this year's state championship, the Cavegirl softball team still enjoyed a great season.

Overall, the Cavegirls closed out the year at 22-8 and were ranked eighth among Class 5A teams in New Mexico by MaxPreps. Also, having posted an unblemished 12-0 record in conference play, they reigned as district champions.

For their efforts during conference play, 10 Cavegirls, along with their coach, have recently received All-District 4/5A honors.

District 4/5A Honorees

Top honors went to Cavegirl Kalion Fuentes. Fuentes, at the plate, hit .429 on the season with 48 RBIs and 12 home runs. She also posted a record of 7-5 with an ERA of 2.16 inside the circle. For her stellar play, she was named District 4/5A's Player of the Year.

Cavegirl head coach Brian Santo was named the District 4/5A Coach of the Year. Santo, only at the helm of the CHS program for four years, has enjoyed an illustrious career as the Cavegirls pilot.

During that span, he's won two state championships and three District 4/5A titles.
