Former Carlsbad Cavemen hurler Trevor Rogers, a 6’5” 217 lb. lefty and current member of the Baltimore Orioles pitching staff, is making a lot of noise in Major League Baseball this season.

Rogers, whose career has been riddled with injuries, has posted a glittering 4-1 record with a blistering ERA of just 1.49. In eight appearances, or 48.1 innings, he’s struck out 40 and owns a WHIP (walks plus hits per innings pitched) of just 0.79.

Rogers was drafted by the Miami Marlins with the 13th overall pick in the 2017 Major League Baseball Draft. In 2021, his first full season with the Marlins, he was selected to the National League All-Star team. Also in 2021, he finished second for Rookie of the Year Honors in the National League.

Burdened by injuries, which affected his performance during the 2022 and 2023 seasons, Rogers was traded to the Orioles on July 30, 2024.

“Rogers has faced challenges with the Orioles, including being optioned to AAA baseball and spending time on the injured list due to a right knee subluxation,” said internet sources. “However, in 2025, he has shown signs of improvement since returning to the Orioles starting rotation on May 23.”
