The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce welcomed business leaders, community partners, and members to its Annual Banquet, an evening dedicated to celebrating outstanding achievements, honoring community champions, and recognizing the leadership that continues to drive Carlsbad forward.

A highlight of the evening was the leadership transition from outgoing Chamber President Jeannie Watson to incoming President Emily Wirth. Watson was recognized for her dedicated service, vision, and commitment to strengthening the Chamber and the business community during her tenure. Members also warmly welcomed Wirth as she begins her leadership role, bringing enthusiasm and a continued commitment to serving Carlsbad’s business community.

One of the evening’s most memorable moments came as Jody Knox was presented with the Presidential Award. In a heartfelt and inspiring presentation, Watson recognized Knox for outstanding service, unwavering support, and meaningful contributions that have positively impacted the Chamber and the community.

The Chamber also honored Mike and Deena Antiporda with the prestigious Janell Whitlock Community Impact Award, presented by Chamber CEO Chad Ingram. The award recognizes individuals whose dedication and service have made a lasting difference in Carlsbad. The Antipordas were celebrated for their commitment to community engagement, generosity, and leadership that continues to enrich the lives of those around them.

The Chamber also recognized Karen Ward as the Carlsbad Chamber Ambassador of the Year. Ward was honored for her exceptional volunteerism, dedication, and tireless efforts in supporting Chamber events, member engagement, and community outreach. Her commitment and willingness to serve have made her an invaluable ambassador for the Chamber and a welcoming presence for businesses throughout the community.

Permian Resources was named Large Business of the Year, recognizing the company’s significant commitment to Carlsbad and its ongoing investment in the community. Through its support of local initiatives, economic development, and community partnerships, Permian Resources has demonstrated what it means to be a corporate leader dedicated to the success of the region.

In one of the evening’s surprises, KYVEK Energy Services was announced as the Small Business of the Year. Owners Doug and Kim Dodd expressed their gratitude upon receiving the award, sharing that while they have been involved with chambers of commerce in other communities, the Carlsbad Chamber stands apart as one of the very best.

Throughout the evening, both CEO Chad Ingram and outgoing President Jeannie Watson reflected on the Chamber’s continued success and growth, crediting the organization’s dedicated staff and leadership team.

“The greatest investment of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce is our team,” said Ingram. “They consistently exceed expectations, and it is an honor to work alongside such talented and passionate professionals.”

Watson echoed those sentiments, praising the Chamber staff for their commitment to excellence and service.

As the Chamber looks ahead under new leadership, the Annual Banquet served as a powerful reminder of the businesses, organizations, and individuals who make Carlsbad a thriving and vibrant community. The evening celebrated not only the accomplishments of the past year, but also the strong partnerships with the City and County, volunteer spirit, and shared vision that will continue to shape Carlsbad’s future.
