Chloe Melvin is the daughter of Patrick and Elena Melvin and the sister of Chelsea Melvin (12). After graduation, Chloe plans to attend college and pursue a career in law. Chloe has been an inspiring leader at Carlsbad High School and has demonstrated her dedication to serving others through her roles as Color Guard Captain, Senior Class President, and Literacy Club President. She is also involved in Theater, Inspired by Science, Science Bowl, Quiz Bowl, Interact, Sources of Strength, French Club, and the National Honor Society. Chloe has earned both the AP Scholar Award and the AP Scholar with Distinction Award, reflecting her strong academic success. Even with her many activities and leadership roles, Chloe is being recognized for her outstanding academic achievement as one of Carlsbad’s top graduating seniors.

 

Claudia Gamboa is the daughter of Eduardo and Denisse Gamboa and the sister of Jimena Gamboa (14) and Arianna Gamboa (11). After graduation, Claudia plans to continue her education and pursue a degree in Petroleum Engineering. Although she plans to study out of state, she hopes to one day return to Carlsbad and give back to her community. Claudia is involved in the National Honor Society, Student Council, BPA, Spanish Club, SkillsUSA, and the San Jose Catholic Church Core Team. She has earned first place in Industrial and Engineering Technology through SkillsUSA and in Health Insurance and Medical Billing through BPA. She has maintained A Honor Roll throughout middle and high school. Claudia is recognized for her strong academic achievement and her future goals as she prepares to begin the next chapter of her education.

 

Myka Char is the daughter of Jonathan and Angela Char and the sister of Zoe Char (23), Zechariah Char (20), and Malachi Char (13). After graduation, Myka plans to attend New Mexico State University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art, with minors in Culinary Arts and Accounting. At Carlsbad High School, Myka has been active in varsity tennis and competes with the culinary competition team. In her free time, she enjoys sewing, painting, baking, and drawing, talents that reflect her creativity and love of the arts. Myka has earned varsity letters in track and tennis, helped her culinary team win first place in the Green Chile Stew State Fair Cookoff, and has maintained A Honor Roll. She is recognized for her academic success and creative talents as she prepares to begin the next chapter of her education.

 

Makayla Franco is the daughter of Orlando and Yvette Franco and the sister of Jeremy Franco (15), Sophia Franco (12), and Bria Franco (10). After graduation, Makayla plans to attend college and major in Biology as she works toward her goal of becoming a dermatologist. At Carlsbad High School, Makayla is a member of the National Honor Society and Interact Club. She also participates in the OJT program, where she works as a receptionist at the Orthopedic Specialist office. In her free time, Makayla enjoys baking and fishing. She has earned a Work Keys Certification, was named Elks Lodge Student of the Month, and received a varsity letter in soccer. Makayla is recognized for her academic success during her high school years.
