Zach R. Young, age 24 of Carlsbad, passed away on October 2, 2020, in his
home. Zach was born on August 6, 1996, in Carlsbad, NM. He lived in
Carlsbad his entire life, attending school at Pate Elementary, PR Leyva, and
then graduated from Carlsbad High School in 2014. He was every teacher’s
model student and finished school 12th in his class. Zach will be remembered
by his friends and former teachers for his sense of humor, his manners and
his heart of gold.
Zach was diagnosed with a brain tumor in the summer of 2015. He was
courageous during his journey and never gave up. He made the decision to
use his diagnosis as an opportunity to help raise awareness about his type of
tumor in hopes for a cure for future patients. Zach had many people that
provided care for him during his journey.
