David Paul Spencer, 77, of Pearl Street, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2020. He was born May 19, 1943, in Carlsbad to Raymond and Lois Spencer.
After graduating from Carlsbad High School, David enlisted in the US Navy and served several years. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Carlsbad where he continued farming and served a few years as a policeman. David later became a mechanic and electrician for the potash mines. David met Mary Plusquellic in 1969 and they married February 7, 1970. David was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Raymond Spencer.
Survivors are his wife of 50 years, Mary Spencer; children: Ray Spencer (Tammy), Paul Spencer, Frank Spencer (Leta), Dan Spencer (Christina); 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; siblings: George Spencer (Pam), Floyd Spencer (Debbie), Raylene Spencer; sister-in-law, Caroline Spencer and numerous nieces and nephews.
